| This is Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Lady ChaCha, the way they appeared in the Japanese NHK Taiga-Drama "Gou – Himetachi no Sengoku". Pic: http://livedoor.2.blogimg.jp/destiny_5791/imgs/4/d/4d0f909c.jpg I just love Taigas - they‘re absolutely fantastic, especially this one! It's such a wonderful and interesting drama. You learn quite a lot about Japanese history and the perspective (a woman's) in which the story is told is also really fascinating! Not to mention the gorgeous costumes…. *_* I highly recommend you to watch it! =) Some info here: http://jdramas.wordpress.com/2011/01/09/go-himetachi-no-sengoku/ Concerning these two: Hideyoshi is one of the three unifiers of Japan (the others were Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu, FYI), a most remarkable man from peasant background that became the no. 1 ruler of Japan. Yodo-dono) is his second wife and the mother of his two sons. But again: To find out more about her, ask Wikipedia. ^__~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yodo-dono I just loved how they were portrayed in the drama and how their relationship evolved from enemies (mostly on her part) to lovers. <3 For those that already know me, this shouldn’t be much of a surprise. XD Gosh, I'm such a sucker for these "Beauty & the Beast" / “Beloved Enemy” kind of love stories, it’s just soo intriguing! >w< Hideyoshi is such a charming fellow, despite his occasional pieces of meanness (which he doesn’t show towards ChaCha, though). But maybe that is exactly what renders him so interesting as a character to me – that he isn’t just one of those “purely good”, flawless guys, but has a more ambivalent, complex personality. And that’s just what makes it so cute to see how genuinely and deeply he loves ChaCha, always stating he would do everything for her. *awwies* Furthermore, I think he’s quite attractive – no, really handsome! (personal opinion) Not one of those young bishies (one word: booooring), but a more mature man (the actor is in his late forties), though that doesn’t make him less appealing, I think. =3 (Johnny Depp isn’t that young anymore, too, and everybody drools over him. Not to mention Alan Rickman in his role as Severus Snape…) Besides he’s one of the very few men that can sport a moustache and still be a looker (some kind of “Rhett Butler–effect”, eh!?) , he has a fantastic figure for his age – not even the faintest trace of a beergut, and those eyes of his …. *dreamy sigh* If only he hadn’t this awful chonmage haircut (this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chonmage) …. but then again, it looks fugly on ANY man. >_< Ok, enough of my rhapsodies and other ramblings. I shut up now.
