He was proud of her. He didn't always tell her, but that was alright. He didn't have to. She knew it from a thousand little gestures, the way he looked at her and the way he carried himself in his presence. The years had taught her to read him well, and somtimes she thought she understood him more than anyone. Or as much as anyone could.
She wanted to show him that she'd do anything to support him, so when he praised her and said she'd done well... it was everything she needed to find peace within herself.
