The Punishment
I´m watching alone
And dreaming of happiness left behind
Feeling sad in mind
Walking through the rooms of my heart
To a silvery gate
To open the door; will you wait?
Stones set in my eyes
Thorns twisting in me like ice
A punishment for the crime I did
For the damage I caused in time
So when I´m lying in my bed
Thoughts are running through my head
Asking me where to begin
Loosing myself in the sin
Feeling so alone
Searching way home
I hear the winds whispering
Calling out in far ancient words
Delivering my prayer to the sky
And my heart it hurts
The day breaks, my mind aches
Finding all the lies linger on
Waking up, making up
Taking time; what shall I do?
Looking in a mirror
I´m looking into empty eyes
But behind the tears
I see hidden secrets and a wish
A wish for love
That should have lasted years
And all over the time
I want you, I need you
And still yet I can´t believe
When you said your love is dead
Watching my world breaking in
Seeing all myself flying by
I´m asking me why
Remembering all the things I´v done
And all the times I´ve gone wrong
Surely there´s a thing that keeps me here
That keeps my heart in fear
And hope
Now lights go out and I can´t be saved
Though pleading on my love
My confusion never stops
But my soul still hopes
And still I atone for the damage I
caused in time
Enduring the punishment for
the crime
The crime I did - to you
Hochachtungsvoll:
Ihr Thanyael
