Connections by Blood

Lia is a normal sized, thin girl from Phoenix, Arizona, with long, hazelnut brown hair and light blue eyes. She is sixteen years old and goes to school with her best friend Mia and her boyfriend Chris. She often takes care of her little sister and picks her up after kindergarten. Her favorite place in Phoenix is the platform above the Salt River. She is left-handed.
There are times when she loses her patience and likes to smack at male people. She later finds out that she also is a descendant of the phoenix-human race. Her eyes then turn dark green.

In her past, she had an accident in which her left rips and feet were seriously injured. She hardly remembers anything, but according to her doctors, it was a wonder for her to be still alive after losing so much blood at once. It was hard for her to learn how to walk again, but after a few years, everything seemed to be alright again. She started to take lessons in kick boxing and even got some titles. On her rips remained several scars, formed like long claws.
She also began to fear water, darkness and limited rooms, eventually those fears became phobias over the years.

After her first meeting with handsome and sexy Jayden, she thinks of him as an idiot through and through because of his comments about her relationship with her sister. But due some circumstances, the two eventually become friends and against her will, Lia starts to like him more than a friend

She’s half American and half German. She speaks English, German and Spanish.

-”Oh my god, Jayden, it’s so good to see you-…sorry, actually I really can’t do this.“-

Jade is a tall and slender boy, but still kind of muscular. He is eighteen years old, has night black hair which is a little bit curly and golden eyes. He is from Australia, but moved to America at the age of twelve. He is a descendant from the phoenix-human race and because of that, his naturally jade green eyes turned golden. His anti-demon weapon is called “shadow-sword” and has great powers.
He acts like he isn’t afraid of anything, but deeply hidden inside his heart, there is still this little, lonely boy.
He lives alone in a small apartment. He really doesn't like it to be called Jayden, he prefers his nickname 'Jade'

He usually never talks about his past, because it doesn’t concern anyone else than him. He suffers, when he thinks about his dead family, so he decided to forget about them, pain would just cause him to get weak. And a warrior like him shouldn’t get weak.
When he was fourteen, he rescued a girl from dying by letting his blood drip into her wounds. As he did this, he turned her accidently into a member of the phoenix-human race, although she already had been one of them. Neither Jade, nor the girl had known this. But after he had been told about that, it was his job to take care of her.
At the Association, he is teamed up with his best friend Lewis Eastwood, but after some circumstances, he got another partner, Hilary Marchwind.
After his first “official” meeting with Lia, he starts to get interested in her and tries to get to know her better. He seems to like her little sister Charley.
His growing feelings for Lia confuse him, he dubs this with his macho-like behavior. He eventually gives her a ring on Christmas, showing his deep feelings. But even after they share a kiss under a mistletoe, Lia doesn’t realize it and leaves Jade hurt again.

-”I thought you wanted to meet with your life lover to talk about your wedding and all the pretty children you’re going to have together and-“-

She is a thin and tall girl with long curly light blond hair. Her eyes are naturally light blue, but because of the phoenix blood they turned dark red. She is seventeen years old. She is from Canada and moved to Arizona five years ago, to join the association in Phoenix.
Her anti-demon weapon is a gun model Beretta 93R, her blood also gave her the talent to manipulate and break people’s thoughts and will by finding out their weakness.
She is a really proud, nice and lovely person who always does what she wants. She cares about her friends a lot and would die for their sake. Also, she is kind of brutal. She likes slapping at Jade when he acts like a jerk. She acts like she doesn’t like him at all, but deep inside her, she actually cares for him.
At the Association, she is teamed up with Savannah Ryan who she can’t stand at all. They’re always fighting, even at the worst moments. But eventually they stop fighting and work together which makes them a really good team.
Because of her girlish looks, she is often underestimated by demons and other people, but that’s the biggest mistake persons can do.
She seems to like to swear in every kind of situation.

Her parents were killed by a murderer several years ago. She wanted to take revenge, so she killed the murderer herself and found out about her special ability then. Her only relatives are her uncle and his son Lewis Eastwood, who is her cousin.
It’s hard for her to trust in somebody because of her past, but she tries hard to befriend with Lia at the beginning, because she wants to have a best friend who is a girl.
Jade sometimes calls her “Peach”. In return, she just calls him “Jayden”, which is really pissing him off.

-”Why the hell should I stop swearing? You’re freaking swearing, too!”-

He is a tall and muscular boy with light blond hair and bronze eyes. His naturally eye-color is a dark blue, but because of the phoenix-blood his eyes turned bronze. He is nineteen years old and originally from Canada, but due some circumstances, he moved to America and joined the association when he had been a little boy. He is the best trained fighter at the Association.
People often think that he and Paige are siblings because of their nearly identical looks, but they’re just cousins.
His anti-demon weapons are the Moon-sword which is good against fire- and earth-demons, and the Sun-sword, which is good against water- and air-demons. He also carries a few little daggers with him. He keeps them in a pocket on his belt.
He is a really nice person who always smiles and whose smile is infective. Also he carries the role as the fight-intermediator between Evan and Jade and also Paige and Savannah. He seems to like Lia a bit, but of course he is aware of her connection to her boyfriend Chris. Later he kind of has feelings for the human girl Claire.
Sometimes he answers stupid questions by Jade or Evan with some simple, really sarcastic statements and then, everyone in the room is staring at him, because he normally hardly says anything to stupid sentences. He then shrugs his shoulders and wonders why everyone is so surprised of his answer.
His manners are excellent and because of that he always tries to calm Paige down.
At the Association, he is teamed up with Jayden Greenwhich but after he was attacked by a “level two” water-demon, he suffers because of his wounds and has to stay at the Association for a while, to recover himself. First they feared that he would die after so much poison inside his body.

When he was a little boy, some strangers entered his home and threatened his parents. They told him they would reprieve one of them, he just had to choose between his parents. He couldn’t say anything so they just decided to kill both of them. After they were finished with his mother, the police arrived and arrested the men. Lewis was really shocked because of his impotence to speak at that moment, which drove his also suffering father to take him to a psychologist. That didn’t help so the two of them moved to America where he slowly began to forget about his mother.

-”Yeah, we all know how it ends. You’re going to get pregnant and won’t be able to feed your baby, so you’ll give it to someone else and die in front of a church because of too much drug consume and…what? Why are you all staring at me like that?”-

He is a very tall and muscular boy with light brown hair and some dark brown strands. His naturally eye-color is a really dark brown, but because of the phoenix-blood, his eyes turned blood red.
He is eighteen years old and came from England together with his partner Harper three years ago.
His anti-demon weapon is unknown, no one besides Harper has actually ever seen him using one.
His character is similar to Jayden’s. He’s really sarcastic and sometimes a little bit scary, but he usually often smiles and likes to joke around. Paige likes him better than Jade which is actually hurting him a little, because Paige knows him longer than Evan.
Evan seems to like leaning at walls. He also shows interest in Lia and is often fighting with Jade for her attention. If he flirts with her, she doesn’t mind unlike when Jade is flirting with her.
At the Association, he is teamed up with Harper Westmile. They often pick really hard missions which include traveling a few days, so he isn’t always at the Association. He is as strong and fast as Jayden which is really pissing him off. They usually fight at least four times a day.
He never talks about his past so no one knows more about him, they just accept what he had told them when he first arrived at the Association.
Lately he had been seen to welcome many young women into his apartment but not a single woman leaves his house again. A few rumors appeared because of that.

She is a tall and thin girl with shoulder long wavy dark blond hair. Her eyes are naturally light blue but because of the phoenix blood they turned sharp green.
She is seventeen years old and came from England together with Evan Madstar three years ago.
Her anti-demon weapon is unknown, no one besides Evan has ever actually seen her using one.
She is very quiet and shy. She hardly ever says anything and only when someone speaks to her directly. She seems unimpressed from Jayden’s flirting-attacks and is then ignoring him. But he just tries it again every time they meet. Lewis also seems a little bit interested by her but never shows it as clearly as Jade. It doesn’t matter, she only sees Evan who she really adores deeply.
At the Association, she is teamed up with Evan Madstar. They often pick really hard missions which include traveling a few days, so she isn’t always at the Association.
No one knows something about her past and she never talks about it.

She is German. She speaks German, English and a little French.

She is a small girl with dark red curly hair and ocean blue eyes and she is sixteen years old. She and her family came from Ireland one year ago.
She has an older twin sister who is called Savannah. Her parents are descendants from the phoenix-human race but because only the oldest child has the phoenix-blood inside its body, she is a normal human whether Savannah has phoenix-blood. This and the behavior of her parents and sister made her hate her family deeply.
She is a really talented artist and has an exhibition of her best pictures in the school. She also sometimes sells a few of her pictures if she needs money because she secretly is trying to get an own apartment, to get free from her parents who don’t care much about her.
She is the opposite of her older twin sister: Quiet, retreated and kind of obliging.
People think of her as a weird person because of her dislike of almost all people and her self-protecting style so no one wants to speak to her at school or in town.
She has a secret talent: Some of the imaginations in her paintings become real, so she has something like a fortune-telling ability.
When she transferred to Lia’s school, Lia wanted to become friends with her because she felt sorry for her, but Claire made it really clear that she wasn’t interested in being friends with Lia.
She doesn’t get along with her parents which is really hurting her because she thought that at least her parents would love her but all they ever care about is her older sister so Claire slowly began to ignore her sister. Because of that, Savannah is always rude if there are times when Claire wants to talk to her.

-”OH! I don‘t know what to say. It’s so sudden! Oh my god, I sound like a middle aged woman who just got a wedding proposal…”-

She is a normal sized thin girl with silky dark red hair, which she always has in a ponytail, and red violet eyes. She is sixteen years old. Because of the phoenix-blood, her forest green eyes turned red violet. She and her family moved from Ireland to America one year ago to join the Association there. She has a younger twin sister, Claire, who is instead of a phoenix-human just an ordinary human.
Her parents always loved her more than Claire but that didn’t seem her to be fair so she tried to get along with her sister, but she always misunderstands her, so she ignores her most of the time. That is hurting her in a strong way.
She is the opposite of Claire: Noisy, naughty and superior. In front of her parents she acts like the perfect daughter, but she secretly hates them because of their behavior in front of Claire.
At the A.O.P.H.R. she is teamed up with Paige Rainclaw which she can’t stand at all. In her opinion she always disturbs her while fighting and she doesn’t like the way she always swears. She doesn’t realize that she is then swearing, too which isn’t making her much different. They eventually start to work together and then are a really good team.
Her anti-demon weapon is her special ability: The control over the four elements. Like Jayden and Evan, she and Paige are fighting at least four times if they meet at the Association.
She also is really talented in learning new languages. Because of that she speaks many different languages.

She is Irish. She speaks English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Japanese.

-”I’m not swearing! I’m just trying to tell you what to do in a really strong way!”-

She is a small and curvy girl from Phoenix with fox red shoulder long hair and dark blue eyes. She is fifteen years old and goes to school with Lia and Chris. She gets good grades and has kickboxing lessons like Lia.
She is a true and good friend and supports Lia where she can.
She has a crush on Jayden and doesn’t understand why Lia always gets pissed off of him. Jayden calls her “Linney”. She eventually is allowed to see the Association with Lia and starts to like Lewis. She nurses him back to health after he suffers because of his wounds from the water-demon.
Later she gets drawn into demon business against her will and can’t do anything to get out of this situation.

-”Oh, I don’t mind. Keep calling me Linney if you like, Jayden!”-

He is a tall boy with dark brown hair and green eyes. He’s seventeen years old and goes to school with his girlfriend Lia and her best friend Mia. He is an ordinary student with good sports grades and sometimes he drinks a little too much.
He’s a caring, nice person at heart and most of the time, he acts like that, too, but he can be really jealous and gets annoyed of Jayden because of his liking in teasing Lia. He thinks of Jayden as his rival and always tries to get rid of him, if Lia and he meet him.
He and Lia are a couple since nearly two years and because of that he thinks he can treat her how he want, but then Jayden eventually makes clear that if he hurts Lia intentionally he will pay for it. He sometimes doesn’t arrive to dates and then Lia always sees the worst in this situation.

-”I don’t care if he’s your partner. I just don’t want you to spent too much time with him, because you’re my girlfriend, not his!”-

She is Lia’s three-year-old sister with blond curly hair and light brown eyes. She always goes home from kindergarten with Lia. She likes Jayden a lot and starts calling him ‘Jade’ earlier than Lia does.
One night she suddenly gets attacked by a strange something and Lia doesn’t know how to defend her, so she has to go into hospital, where Jayden visits her from time to time.

He's Lia's father who died in an accident nearly 17 years ago. He never knew that he was going to be a father, Carolyn didn't notice the pregnancy until his death.
He had had dark blond hair, light blue eyes and had been really tall and muscular.
