Drums
This is a requested chapter. How did Kai and Nao get together and how did they ever manage sex before Saga?
I call it part #8237568 of "nomo fails to keep the crack out". I will now hide in the corner and be terribly embarrassed.
He was just packing his things and ready to leave when he heard the sound of drumming. His own band had left a while ago, leaving Kai to take care of organising non-musical stuff, and as it was quite late he’d thought to be the only one in the building. Obviously not. Who would it be, hitting the drums quite like that? This wasn’t practising the beat; this was pure release of frustration, paired with bits and pieces of a solo. And this was when Kai recognized it – alice nine’s drummer Nao was behind it. He smiled. Nao had always struck him as very cute.
The door to the practice room was half open, explaining why Kai was able to hear the drumming at all, since practice and recording rooms were soundproofed. Kai leaned in the door, watching the other work out over his instrument. Nao’s eyes were tightly closed; else he’d have seen Kai’s reflection in the big mirror ages ago. But so Kai had the pleasure of seeing Nao from the front (in the mirror) and the back at the same time, watch the muscles clench underneath the slightly sweaty shirt and sticks going swiftly over drums and cymbals. So what if he was a voyeur? In fact Kai was much worse than that, too.
Nao’s movements slowed, the sounds became softer and subsequently died down.
“My, my”, Nao complained softly. “It’s not very polite to watch someone in such an intimate moment!”
“Well, maybe you should have closed the door then.” Kai smirked. “But who knows, one day you might have revenge and catch me at it, too.” He threw a towel at Nao so the other could dry his sweaty strands, then turned around and left.
The next days Kai found himself daydreaming about the other drummer. He’d bend Nao over the snare and have his way with him, and being a dream, the set was actually stable enough to support their thrusting. He kept on thinking about those cute little fingers and the strong arms, the crooked smile and those adorable dark eyes underneath the fringes. Kai hadn’t ever done another drummer before and he wanted it hard. So everyday when his band members, the lazy little buggers, had left he stayed behind in the practice room, making sure the door was open and played. It was absolutely embarrassing that he kept waiting for Nao to come to him instead of just inviting him out. But again, he’d never wooed another drummer and he wanted to impress.
“So…” Nao asked from the doorway. Kai kept on playing. “Is all this sudden extra practice just so I can get my ‘revenge’?”
Unlike Nao, Kai didn’t slow down softly, he stopped with a bang. “Indeed. It wouldn’t do to be too impolite, now would it?”
Nao chuckled. “And would it be too impolite to ask you out on a frappuccino?”
“It might be on the verge of being a bit too forward, but I’ll let it pass.”
After coffee he invited Nao home for dinner, saying that it was more laid-back than a fancy restaurant and just as good – Kai was after all a great cook – but really meaning ‘it’s nearer to my bed and I can fuck you sooner’. Nao smiled and accepted and it was only when there were halfway through dinner that Kai realized this wasn’t what he wanted. He didn’t want to seduce Nao into his bed and throw him away after. He didn’t want just Nao’s body, he wanted Nao. So much to his surprise, all he did was spoon feed the other man dessert and steal a chaste kiss. In the end, Nao went home and Kai went to bed alone and he was very confused about this.
It took two more dates until they properly made out. And when it happened it was too late to go back. Kai had unexpectedly and irrevocably fallen in love.
“I take it you have experience with men.” Nao purred. “Have you ever thought of playing more roughly?” Kai thought of all the toys, cuffs and floggers in his bedroom and snorted. What a question.
“So you want to do it like that?” Jackpot, Kai thought.
“Would that be an impolite thing for our first time?” Hook.
“Oh no, not if you want it.” Line.
“You’ll enjoy it greatly, I promise.” Sinker.
“I am sure.”
“Well, then put your hands above your head, I’ll get the cuffs.” And Kai was the prey.
Kai sat up straight. “Nao-kun I think you misunderstood. I am on top. I always am.”
“Not today, because I am on top.” Nao smiled sweetly.
“Wait.” Kai put some space between them. “This isn’t working.”
The other pouted adorably. Then he reached for his purse and produced a coin. “Head, I top, tail, you.”
“Alright, but I am head!”
Nao threw it. “Tail. Take your clothes off, Kai-kun!”
“Oh, snap!”
It was the start of a wonderful relationship.

in case you forgot this is the "nomo learns to write english" project and while I still feel very embarrassed about it, this one went much smoother than the previous in writing. yay.
