He moved out at 16 and one of his goals in life was to never become like his parents. Shortly after, he met Cas at a party, they got to know each other better and became a couple. That all ended (for the first time) pretty quickly because Cas suspected that Zane was cheating. Zane denied this accusation and fled so to say to Japan for an exchange year. There, he met Akaya at Samezuka who was his roommate. They became best friends, did drugs & all sorts of experimental teenage behavior. Zane tried to get with Akaya, and therefore doesn’t like Mizuki at - which is a two-way street. After graduation, Zane planned to stay in Japan for a while, but Cas paid him a visit to finally talk things out, which ended with them going back to Australia together. They have two children together, Aiden and Sabrina who are 14 years apart. Zane never wanted children and didn’t try to adapt to the situation at all, instead going partying and cheating a lot. Cas ended their relationship after almost two decades of problems, fights, and no sign of betterment. In the end, Zane became what he despised and managed to even get on Akaya’s bad side when he tried to flirt with Miharu when she was a teen. Zane manages to get by, but eventually lost all the people he liked. Only his daughter Sabrina likes him, but this is only due to him being on his best behavior when she visits him.
