                           Kapitel 1: The first day
                           ------------------------


Hallöchen^^ So, ich habe mal etwas Anderes probiert. Hoffentlich schreckt euch
nicht ab, dass das Ganze auf Englisch geschrieben ist. Ich hab es einfach so
geschrieben und hoffe, ich hab nicht irgendwo böse Fehler eingebaut. xD Aber
nun gehts los..
 

David was excited, and also a little scared. He stood on a little stool in front
of the mirror in the bathroom, trying to brush his teeth like his mother showed
him.
His mum stood next to him, watching him.
Today should be his first day in kindergarten. He really didn’t want to go
there. There would be so many kids he has never seen before.
If David could decide, he would just sit in the living-room and caress his cat
he got from his mum a few weeks ago.
Lina was so cute. He wanted to play with her all day.
“Well done”, his mum suddenly said. “Now we have to get dressed.”
David jumped off the stool and went to the hall.
His mum helped him to take on his jacket and shoes.
Then they went outside.
A few minutes later he sat in the car and David’s mum drove to kindergarten.
He sighed and looked out the window. It was cold, windy and the sky was almost
dark-grey.
After a while, he saw the kindergarten at the end of the road. He was sure
nobody there would like him.
His mum dropped out of the car and went to the backdoor to open it for David.
But he sat in his child seat, didn’t move.
“Oh come on, honey. It’s not that bad in a kindergarten”, she said.
She was in a hurry, she had to go to work.
“I don’t want to”, David answered.
“Would you take a look at least? Please.”
David jumped out the car, looking at the small building. There was a big
playground and the windows of the kindergarten were full of animals and other
things.
David had to admit that it looked nice.
He and his mum walked along a small alley, then they saw a big door.
What would wait for him behind this door?
He took his mum’s hand and they entered.
Everything in the hall was colorful: the ground floor, the doors, the walls.
“You must be Mrs. Bonk, aren’t you?”
A young woman suddenly stood in front of them.
“My name’s Anna.”
“That’s right”, David’s mum answered.
Anna looked at David. “So you are David, aren’t you?”
David just hid behind his mum.
Anna laughed.
“I’ll show you around.”

Then David’s mum left.
He sat in a corner, playing alone with some cars. It seemed like no other child
noticed him. But Timo did.
He sat at the desk, drawing a picture. Timo thought he had never seen this
small, thin, blond haired boy. But he saw this kid was alone, too.
He walked to David, sat down next to him.
“Hi”, Timo said.
David looked at him for a second.
“Hi”, he answered.
“What’s your name?”, Timo asked.
David hesitated.
“My name is David.”
“I’m Timo. How old are you?”
“Four”, David said quietly. “And you?”
“I’m five. Let’s be friends, okay?”
David stared at him, stunned.
Then he smiled, gave some cars to Timo and nodded.
“Okay.”

At this time, they had no idea that their friendship would be as close as it is
today…
