Sousuke acclimated better and took care of Akaya from birth, but Rin was busy with his career and didn’t want him. This caused Akaya to have some mommy issues, while he gets along very well with his father. Fortunately Mizuki was at his side from the beginning and always took care of him instead. In return, Akaya protected Mizuki, who has been a victim of bullying since kindergarten. Due to their special circumstances, they were isolated from everyone else until middle school, where they found some friends. At that time they also became a couple. Akaya hated going to school because of his ADHD, which also causes him to get irritated quickly. He skipped school a lot, but thanks to Mizuki’s, he managed to get by just fine. He also had some phases of self-harm & drug abuse where he really hated himself due the overall situation, Rin’s rejection, and psychological problems. After graduation, Akaya & Mizuki decided to get married and move in together. Going to university to study & train to become a professional swimmer, he quickly finds success with his parent’s help & Sousuke becoming his official coach later on. Since Mizuki always wanted children, they decided to have their first after finishing their education. Akaya absolutely adores his daughter Miharu and also likes his son Riku, who wasn’t planned but also welcomed into the family. Although he (unnecessarily) gets a bit jealous sometimes, wanting all of Mizuki’s affection, there is no bad blood between those two. After his falling-out with Zane, who he met at Samezuka Academy, Akaya met Berry through Mizuki’s brother Iori and they’ve been best friends ever since. The four of them and their children spend a lot of time together.
