He’s very tense and grumpy due to his upbringing, and later messy relationship with Zane. But he means well and is actually a very caring individual with a talent for composing and music in general. Cas moved in with Zane very soon after they got together, because he couldn’t wait to get out of his messy home of divorced parents that didn’t care about him. Before that, he fled from home and spent as much time as possible at the local skate park. Even though their relationship was always chaotic, Cas decided to give Zane another chance after he broke up with him once already. They stayed together on and off for 20 years, and it took Cas really long to finally have enough of Zane’s cheating and antics. Cas managed to break the cycle, but feels very guilty for not doing so sooner, because Aiden really suffered under Zane. Although Zane isn’t a good person, Cas doesn’t want to prohibit him from seeing their children, so Sabrina is allowed to visit her dad whenever she feels like it. Cas absolutely loves his children, and has an especially good relationship with Aiden, while Sabrina is a bit more of a troublemaker. About 5 years after the breakup, Cas starts dating Eric, a fellow producer he’s known & worked with for many years already. They were in a similar situation, and aside from that, get along really well. Now having a relaxing, healing relationship, Cas is much less tense & not so angry anymore.
