They have a typical sibling relation- ship with fighting sometimes but being there for each other when it’s needed. Itoe had a crush on Mizuki as a teen, which sparked some tension that has been resolved since then. Initially wanting to have a relationship like his parents have, Itoe has been seeking to find his “soulmate” since a very young age. In middle school, he had a crush on one of his senpais and confessed to him. This senpai used him and then threw him away, mocking his naivety. After this traumatic experience, Itoe became hypersexual and was known as the school mattress. When he was 16, he got drugged, assaulted and was left in a back alley. Shiki found him and saved his life. Itoe didn’t want to go home even when he felt better, but Shiki made him go back to his parents, not leaving them to worry longer. At first, Sousuke didn’t like Shiki because of a misunderstanding and his dark looks, but they warmed up eventually. Itoe fell in love with Shiki, and would visit his bookshop every day after school. He even went back to his former self, behaving like a “good child” and taking up his reading again. After almost a year, they became a couple and have been together ever since; having multiple ex-stray cats as their children. Itoe became a Christian after experiencing Shiki’s belief, and is in therapy now for his past trauma which helps him to be more relaxed and mentally well. Shigeru trained and handed over the family’s distillery to Itoe when he retired. The cats help him dealing with the stress he is under from work.
