| Gramophones always makes me wanna listen to music from the 30s & 40s. I painted this image as a practice piece to test out a new artstyle. One of the issues my images faced for years is the lack of texture. Same goes for the values that usually end up being too dark and muddy, which is why I challenged myself to keep an better eye on the values and color relationships. One good Book for this subject matter is Color and Light by James Gurney that I'm reading almost religiously whenever I struggle with color issues. My approach for this image was to make it look like an old illustration from the 50s or 60s. And also thanks to Kels for the Platypus suggestion. Sadly the Platypus ended up looking like a duck so I made "Saxophone Duck" out of it...and got distracted by eurovision memes. Damn I miss eurovision.. |

Wenn ich dieses Ding sehe, muss ich sofort an Layers of Fear denken (ist ein kleines Horrorspiel) - da kommt ebenfalls ein Abschnitt mit einem Grammofon und es spielt genau ein Lied ab... und davon gibts dann nen Ohrwurm x_x
Das ist ein richtig schönes Bild.
Die Texturen sind dier sehr gut gelungen, finde ich. Und ich mag die Koloration vom Metall des Grammophons unheimlich gerne. Die ist so hübsch!
