So Ethan hasnt noticed but while theyve been avoiding the rookies, jesse has been leading them closer and closer to the borders
he's realised that he's too attached to Ethan and Faith now, so much so that he cant kill them himself
Ethan and Jesse are very different people, but their main similarity is that their sense of duty to their kings, RULES them
So Even tho he likes both of them, he HAS to obey his king and do what he was sent to do
So he leads them into a trap

And there's a bunch of soldiers waiting for them near the borders
And the capture Ethan and the little Prince 8DD and pop them on the airship

where they will be taken to Jesse's king and executed
Of course Jesse's devastated, he HAS to do this. and he keeps telling himself that

And the thing that KILLS Jesse is that Ethan's not angry at him, he understands why he did it
There's a scene where Ethan and Faith are being held by a bunch of soldiers, and Jesse pleads with Ethan saying 'I had to do this Ethan, this is my *duty*'

And Ethan kinda smiles sadly at him and says he understands and Jesse's all torn up about it
And Faith doesnt understand why Jesse is leaving them, so he squirms out and goes to run to Jesse
And Jess has to look away as the guard pulls the kid back to Ethan
Ethan struggles when this happens and fights to get to Faith and doesnt calm until Faith is in his arms
And Jesse goes to his quarters on the airship while Ethan and Faith are taken to a cell
The guards arent too happy with Ethan for fighting them so to ensure it doesnt happen again, one of them stabs Ethan all slyly
And 8DD as you know now, Ethan wears a lot of black so it's not obvious
And he's trying to be brave for faith so he pretends nothing happened


So Jesse goes back to his room and he has a bit of a breakdown, sliding down the door and burying his face in his arms
sooo then Jesse thinks on it, he realises he cant go through with itSo he goes to find Ethan, but not before surrepticiously setting explosives around the ship
And then free's Ethan who's just really relieved
They get to the hangar and get parachutes
And Jesse hangs back because he cant do it
He has a ridiculous fear of heights
So parachutes are a NO

But yessss, Ethan straps faith to Jesse's chute
And Jesse's all 'NOOOOO I CANT DO THIS, WE WILL DIE AND IT WILL BE MY FAULT' LOLOL

And Ethan tells him that he wouldnt trust anyone other than Jesse with Faiths life
And then this pic happens and while Jesse's all Dx he shoves him off the shipSo then Ethans all 'owwww' and takes a moment to try and catch his breath uz he's all stabbed and stuff XDD
And the explosions start to go off
So he grabs a chute and jumps after them
So they find eachother and Ethan doesnt tell Jesse he's injured
knowing that they need to get back to his kingdom ASAP
and Jesse will want them to travel slower if he knows
so he pushes himself until he collapse and Jesse's all ;___________;
but yesh, Ethan collapses
and Jesse's all all ;___; 'why didnt you tell me'
And they're slower now but Ethan bought them enough time by dragging himself along
So they eventually get themselves back to the King
and Ethan's barely hanging on
So he's taken to the infirmary
and Jesse's arrested
And Faith's all 'MY SURROGATE DADS DDDDx'
So the King decides that he's going to have to make an example of Jesse

So he's to be executed for crimes against the state, treason, attempted regicide
So Faith is a lil tattle tale
and he runs to Ethan and is all 'MY DAD IS GOING TO KILL JESSE DDDx'
And Ethans all 'ffffffff goddam itttt'

So yesss he drags himself down to the cells to tell Jesse not to worry
That he'll do something about it
And jesse's all ;___; why are you even out of bed???

so yesss, Ethan and Faith decide to 'blackmail' the king. Using Faith as bait
Faith essentially tells the King that if he carries out the execution, he will disappear and the throne with be heirless
And the King is all DDDD< dammit!

But he gives in, because he has no choice.
And they all live happily ever afterrrr 8DDD

The King HATES Jesse
And Faith gets a little resentful of Jesse, because he sees Jesse as someone who's stealing HIS Ethan
Because before Jesse came along Ethan was all his.
